TGIF - with Unity

Friends with Flair Friday...
You can check out all the Unity Fan Creations
HERE!!

Yes, I have been a busy girl!

We have started harvest here on the farm.
I end up making two meals a day for 6 men, myself, and the kids EVERY DAY...
and that isn't what makes me busy.
I then HAUL the meals out to the farm for everyone to eat at the field.

Here is a picture of a corn field we cut into:

It is time consuming.

I get to plan the meals,
shop for the meals,
make the meals,
haul the meals,
go home and clean up the meals...
AND, I do that twice a day!

Besides being busy with those duties, I also have normal duties with the house and kids!
I hate homework!

Anyway, here is a card I made recently:

I love the colors.

I used stamps from Unity Stamp Co.:

The background was made with putting ink on my block, spritzing it with water, and stamping to the white card stock. I love how the colors mixed. I then took one of the ink colors and stamped the Unity stamp for a little more layering...

Photography

Butterfly found out at the farm:
Isn't it beautiful?  Granted, it was dead on Chris's grill guard, but still beautiful!

Roses in front of the house before the hail and heat got to them:

Where there is SMOKE there is FIRE...
out at the farm, the neighbors had a massive fire in their pit:

My neighbors has beautiful flowers too:

Just wanted to post SOMETHING since it has been a few days...
Hope you have a great hump day!

More Stipper Pictures...After the fact!

Full Frontal:

Where the brushes are supposed to be:

A little side action:
This USED to be a turn signal...

One Hot Stripper!

Today, we had a bit of an accident out at the farm...

We had our cotton stripper catch fire. I am not sure exactly, but something with the engine compartment and a spark, mixed with cotton... it was a bad mix and our cotton stripper is totaled.

To start, here is what a cotton stripper is supposed to look like:

And this is one that is not a happy stripper:

I took a little video of it when I got there:

Here are some more pictures from around the cotton stripper:
From a distance. This is the front of the stripper.

Side View, can you see where the cab USED to be?
Can you see the fire? This is just under the bucket that holds the cotton, where the engine is.
Back View. The fire at the ground on the left is the front tire. You can also see some flames inside the bucket just above the red tape on the left.
This is my dad standing in front of a module of cotton. The cotton is picked in the stripper, dumped into a buggy, then dumped into a module builder. Didn't get a picture of that, sorry, but it looks like a railroad car. It packs the cotton into this hard bale before driving off of it.

Farming Adventures

Hunter, Colton, and I were driving around the farm and saw some of the local wildlife!
TWO babies!

Tractor Time

We took a break from being sick on Thursday, and headed out to the farm.

It was nice to get the fresh air, though I am not sure it helped me out very much cause the next morning I woke up and had a horrid pain on the left side of my head. I ended up with the most horrid sinus infection!

But enough with the unhappy things... we got a new tractor and Hunter got to go for a ride with his daddy:This isn't our regular kind of tractor.

We used to deal in green, but at the moment, Chris isn't very happy with those green people. This is a Cat tractor and it has many bells and whistles inside, along with a very nice buddy seat for Chris's little buddy!

Crazy Night

Last Night we had some major storms go through the area, and even though it didn't actually do anything here in town, the farm did end up with a LOT of rain.

And by a lot, I mean we ended up with 8" of rain, plus about 1/2 a foot of hail in places.

After this storm finally passed, there was another storm that went through in the middle of the night. We only knew about it was because Hunter woke up having a bit of a hissy because his night light was not on. I went to check on him and I realized that the power was out. It didn't come back on until about 2:25 a.m. I watched out the bathroom window for a few minutes and the light show was pretty bright to the East, though it never rained or anything.
Today, hours after the storms were over, we went out to the farm and I took pictures of the remaining water.

This is the creek between Morse and Pringle. There usually isn't any water running here, but with the storm, there was plenty of water to fill it up! By the time we got there, the water had already gone down a bit and was no longer threatening to go over the highway! (West of Bridge)
This is to the East of the same bridge:
This is at the bottom of the South Hooton:
This is the South Anderson (Eastern part of circle). The water was leaving the circle and draining into the bar ditch:
Here is Dale & Martha's driveway between the Hull fields. The water was still running here:
Here is a video of the storm to the north of town.

I was bummed I couldn't see the tornado that was north of town because of the trees and hills. But what can you do, I wasn't going to go storm chasing with a 3 year old!

After Special Requests: Hunter

So the loyal readers of my blog have been wondering where all the people photos are... Well, after much anticipation...........................

HERE'S HUNTER:
I had the hardest time getting the little rascal to look AT me.He was trying my patience with every step he took! But I finally got one of his face!He didn't want to look at me so much that he would throw himself in the wheat to get away! Here is a picture of the wheat, up close and personal:
And here is the men "hard at work" putting a broken pivot back together:And this is the MONSTER ATTACKING!I got a good picture of him LOOKING at me when he was able to pull the head off of a strand of wheat and he was proud:
The End, Thanks for looking. Hopefully we will get more pictures taken soon...

The OLD Pringle Morse School

The Pringle-Morse School is no more... The school was closed in 1977 and was purchased by a local farm. He had an entry way cut into the back side of the gym to allow for his operation to use the space to store grain carts and the like. Unfortunately, this allowed trespassers easy access to the space and they caught the building on fire last Monday Night/ Tuesday Morning, at about 2:00 a.m. That is when my Husband got the call to come move his farming equipment off of the next lot to make sure it stayed out of harms way.
This picture is of the back side of the gym where the entry was opened up.This is also the back of the gym. This picture allows you to see where the risers used to be!

This is the monument that sits outside the building. Because of tall grass and weeds, I didn't even know this was in the front of the building until AFTER the fire cleared away all obstacles!
This is the view from the front doors. The stairs lead up to the risers that USED to be there! The door straight ahead went straight onto the court and into the lower bleachers. I believe the door on the left leads to the showers, maybe? but I wouldn't go past the front door to look ;)
This is the full view of the school building... or at least a full view of the gym's front. All the top glass is now gone from the fire as well as the gym doors. This was an awesome building to see, and now it is just like the rest of the abandoned structures in this area... bummer.
