This week we are working with the FUN set called Happy New Year Damask Patterns by Pixels & IceCream.

The challenge this week for MONDAY is to make a Monogram card. I used the damask image as a patterned paper strip in my LO.

Verve Stamps Release Party Challenges

Verve Stamps is having another release party on April 18 and so this week they are having challenges so stampers can get in the running for some free Verve Stamps! Some of their contests are very simple, you just go to their website and post a comment by answering a question... Today's question was "What was your favorite song as a kid?" Easy enough. Other contest are more challenging! There is currently 3 Verve Sketches to follow and a color recipe to follow. To Inspire Your Creativity Challenge

This blog "To Inspire Your Creativity" offered a challenge to follow a tutorial on card folding and then decorate the card and then post it to share. I had already followed a similar tutorial on this particular way to fold a card, but had not yet found the inspiration or motivation needed to decorate it. This blog challenge gave me that inspiration and this is what came out!:

I used a clear stamp to stamp the flower with versamark and then I used a white embossing powder on it. I then used the ink resist technique again and inked up the flower with blue ink. I then used a SU stamp set called "Perennial Favorites" to stamp the butterfly with blue ink and then again used the white/clear embossing powder before cutting it out and using dimensional dots to raise it up from the rest of the card. I also used the SU stamp set "Priceless" to stamp the flourish at the base of the card to give it that extra Omph!

So what do you think? I think I really like this ink resist technique!

I thought I would try a NEW adventure in my crafting. I came across a website that holds weekly contests called Mojo Mondays. I thought I would give it a try since they give away free stuff and I thought it might give me some good ideas for making my own cards. Here is the sketch I am supposed to use as inspiration for my card.

I am a newbe at this, so I don't the "receipe" for anyone to use in their own work. (not that that would happen!)

It's not a DOLL It's a BABY

Hunter and I were at the dollar store the other day, and of course there are a ton of bouncy balls bouncing around in the aisles. Hunter saw one and kept telling me "ball, ball, ball" until I reached down and got one for him. He played with it for a couple of minutes until we went through a new aisle that has the "babies" in it. As soon as he saw them he started to tell me "baby, baby, BABY!"

So we changed the bouncy ball for a baby.

Hunter kept kissing the little baby and would talk to it very nicely. It was very cute.

I figured we would just leave the baby at the check out since Chris isn't really into his son and "dolls" but when I tried to get rid of the little thing, Hunter got upset and kept asking for the baby and saying "peeze." Since he didn't throw a fit and asked nicely, I went ahead and bought the baby.

Last night, Chris and I were watching a movie and Hunter disappeared and we couldn't hear him playing anywhere close so Chris went to look for him. Chris found our little man laying in our spare bed under the sheet with his "baby" on the pillow next to him. He was working on putting his baby to bed!

We busted him so Hunter got up right after that, but once it was actually time for Hunter to go to bed, he took his little baby and put it into bed with him and even made sure to give the baby a corner of his blankie. He was sharing his blankie... He won't even let me share his blankie with me unless he is sitting on my lap and doesn't realize I am getting warm with the blank too!

This is the card that I made to use for Hunter's Thank You cards for his birthday. It took a LONG time to make them. It has a elephant, lion, and giraffe. I will NEVER make this card again. I only borrowed the stamp set used for the animals and it required a LOT of cutting out each part of the animals.

The next 2 are from an idea I got off the website: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/su. It is a coaster notebook. I made the cover and put the rings in the top of the coaster to make it into a book. I also got this idea from the above website. It is a bunny gift. It holds a candy, like a chocolate mint patty. The back of the bunny is supposed to have some sort of tail, but I haven't figured out what I want to use just yet.

Most of the new ones were not original ideas since I went to some websites that have examples of what other people have done with the stamps I own... So it is a copied original since with doing this stuff, each person rubs off on their work, and I don't have some of the "company" paper & ink colors that many people use because they all match and they don't have to spend time getting the paper and stamp ink and and and and... to look good together! (I think that was a bit of a ramble!)

Some More Creativity

Just Another Saturday

Where to begin.

The Bogner Family Just arrived home from yet another trip to Colorado on Thursday! We headed out last Saturday Evening because there was moisture moving in from California that had been a hurricane! That moisture was destined to meet up with a cold front moving south from Colorado, and so, while we were away we got over 4 inches of rain. North of the farm there was about 5 inches, and some of the locals in town said they only got 3 inches, but I am sure it was more than that since there was still water sitting when we got home 5 days later! The tail water pit at the Adobe Walls farm is completely full and Chris said that he had never seen it full, even when it rained for a week straight shortly after we moved to the panhandle.

Colorado was a good trip. Just before we left, on Friday Night, Hunter decided to stop having diarrhea, and throw up instead. He acted fine on Saturday, so that morning I went to a StampinUp party (which was lots and lots of fun), and then left Hunter out at the farm to build fence with James (a hired hand for harvest), Chuck (Chris's always hired man), my dad, and Chris. By the time it was over, all of them where covered in mud and soaking wet (it had already started to rain by the time the fence started to go up). By the time I got back to the farm, Hunter has been stripped of his clothing and was hanging out in the backseat of Chris's new farm truck... a 2008 Silverado! Hunter was glad to see I had brought him some warm jam-ies with feet in them so he could get warm, though he still wanted to be out in the rain! He loves the rain.

So while on the trip, Hunter did really good, though he would get the runs almost everyday. Poor baby. We were able to see all the Hunter's grandparents (not hard since they live a mile apart), and all the Great-grandparents except for my Grandpa LaVern.

When we got home, Hunter's bum still hadn't fixed itself - I thought he could have been because of teeth or something like that so wasn't too worried until it had been a week - so I called the Dr.'s office. The nurse told me to take him off of milk for a day or so and see if that helps. Hunter was really NOT happy about that decision. I took him off milk on Friday morning. On Saturday, Chris, Hunter, and I went to the neighboring town to go get a bolt that cost over $125, go to WalMart for some C batteries for Hunter's new to him Vtech game, to the pharmacy to get my prescription, and to the barber shop so Chris wouldn't look so scruffy! As soon as we got the the barber shop, Chris got out of the truck, and Hunter threw up EVERYWHERE!!! Yeah. So now he can't have juice either. He is on the BRAT diet. Banana, Rice, Apple Sauce, and Toast. Hunter is a bit of a picky eater anymore and so today he ate a banana, ginger ale mixed with water, a sippy cup with rice cereal mixed with water since he won't eat it any other way, and then he acted better so I let him eat our dinner of stir fry ~which has rice in it!

I've picked up a bad habit I would like to confess! I have started branching out from my scrapbooking and have started making greeting cards! I have made quite a few. I went to a StampinUp party about 6 months ago and bought some stamps. I decided that I hadn't been using them enough so I decided to make a few birthday cards. Then I went to the new StampinUp party and purchased a few more stamps as well as made a few cards at the party. I wanted to show my cards off to my mom so I took them to Colorado with me and while there I showed them to Chris's Grandma Bogner since she always sends out birthday cards and I figured I could give some of them to her. When she looked at the cards she said, "I'd take about 1/2 a dozen of this one. " and then that one and this one and this one! So I have been busy trying to get them done since I got home. I have all but one set done, because I am waiting for my newly ordered stamps to arrive because one set is sayings like "thank you" and "wish big" and I thought one of them would look good on the last card. That is all I need to add to the last card and they too will be done! But since I need a picture to post with all these words, here are a few of the cards I have been making!:
