BLS Tutorial

Today was my day of the month to post for Black Leaf Studio's.

I made this quick card using the challenge for today to use Vellum.
Because I
Heat Embossed the digital image on the vellum,
I decided to make a quick tutorial for you all to view.
You can find it on the BLS Blog.

JCBC #28 and HHS #27

2 challenges today, all wrapped into one nice little card! The two challenge websites are: Just Christmas and Birthday Cards (JCBC) and High Hopes Stamps (HHS).
The first challenge is to use this sketch as inspiration for card:The second challenge was to DE-Stress your design. This means that you can tear the paper, ink up your edges for an antique look, or use your scissors and de-stress the edges of the paper...You just had to de-stress the look an any way you wished. I used the inking method by inking the edges of the image, the border, and the horizontal element. This is my favorite way of de-stressing!
And here is my interpretation of the sketch AND de-stressing technique. Stuff I used for this card I used:
Images/Stamps: Cherry Blossoms Image {I downloaded from SOMEWHERE!! I am not sure where I found it, though I found it in blurfing (surfing blogs!)}, Short & Sweet (sentiment) SU. Accessories: MS Border Punch, Gems, Brown Ink, dimensionals (images is raised), and downloaded paper from somewhere too!

Sketch Challenge #24 JCBC

HAPPY MONDAY: The Monday Challenge I am doing this week is from Just Christmas And Birthday Cards. The challenge is a sketch: And here is my interpretation of the sketch:
I used SU Short & Sweet for the sentiment. For the outer flowers I used SU Polka Dot Punches and Office Accoutrement. The middle flower is again a Build a Blossom from http://crafterskitchen.blogspot.com.

Hunter Speaks & Card Challenges

First off, let me say sorry that this video is sideways... my camera and I are having some issues that we can hopefully work through before I decide to throw it against the wall...!

Chris, Hunter, & I went to our FAVORITE store... the John Deere store! While there, I found this toddler hat that Hunter is modeling below. I told Chris that Hunter needed it since we hadn't been able to find a hat his size since his Grandpa Andy bought him one just before his first birthday. Chris said "NO" and then the sales rep that sold Chris is newest tractor said he would put it on his tab. So THANK YOU DOUG!!! I thought it was Very Nice of him since JD is usually expensive, especially for little kids stuff.
