Corrosive Challenge #10 and High Hopes Stamps #29

Corrosive Challenges By Janet and High Hopes Stamps both are having some great challenges this week. CCJ challenge #10 was to make a birthday card since it is Janet's birthday this week! HHS challenge #29 was to use some sort of embossing {~ You can use it to emboss your lined image, you can add a design to your patterned paper using embossing powder and your heat gun }.
This is my first time doing the CCJ challenge so hopefully they will like what I decided to make!
Here is my card:
I saw this technique over at one of the blogs I follow. They used the scalloped border punch {my punch isn't just the scallop, so mine is a little different from those I have already seen ;) } down the side of a sheet of paper, then used the scalloped circle punch to punch into that paper... The bright pink area is what is taken out of the sheet of paper. I then took the "cake" portion of the die cut and used VersaMark ink on it and then Holographic Embossing Powder, followed with my heat gun! I then used SU's round tab punch to make the cup. I scored the cup to make it seem to have the ridges like real cups! I also used my cuttlebug, along with the Sizzix Texturz Starter Kit to make the flowered embossing on the background, then used SU Pink Passion to make the texture Pop!
For those who care: YES YOU CAN USE THE SIZZIX TEXTURES WITH THE CUTTLEBUG! The sandwich is
A plate
texture plate
cardstock
tan mat (spellbinders)
C plate
And this sandwich is a little tighter to get through the machine, but it worked on my machine as well as a reporters machine from the Craft Critique. The article can be found HERE.
STUFF I USED FOR THIS CARD:
INK: Pink Passion SU
STAMPS: "Happy Birthday" I think G Studio, but not sure... found at Joann's for $1, came on small sheet with like 4 other acrylic stamps
ACCESSORIES: Holographic Embossing Powder by Ranger, Heat gun, fiscars border punch, scallop punch, round tab SU, ribbon, dimentionals, Sizzix texture plate, cuttlebug

So much for such a little card, the card was only 3x3!
