Clear It Out Tuesdays with Black Leaf Studios

Today is the day Clear It Out puts their new challenge up...

This 2 week challenge is to make a Thank You card...

I changed it up a little!

I made THANK YOU bag toppers for Hunter's next birthday party. These will be given to the kids who show up to the party. I asked Hunter what he wanted on his invites and he told me TRAINS! He is having his party at the local JUMP ZONE (if I can get it booked in time!), and so I didn't think there was really anything I could put together to go with a bounce house, so thought Trains would be perfect!

I just made the sentiment on my computer, and the paper is from BLACK LEAF STUDIOS. You can find the paper kit in BLS Etsy shop HERE.

In the bag is a sucker, some vampire teeth, and a glow in the dark stick! Has NOTHING to do with the party, but fun just the same!

Christmas Bag Toppers

I made a bunch of these for Hunter's Christmas party in his PRE-K class:

I am also making these to give to my Father-In-Law's grand kids. We don't do much with his side of the family, so thought it would be nice to give them a little something... even if it was just animal crackers or cookies!

I have another batch of toppers that I haven't photographed yet, but hope to before I give them to my side of the family on Christmas Eve.

Santa in sleigh is digi and Santa waving is Unity. Banner and Sentiment also Unity....

AND these Frap Jars I filled with Epsom salts and gave to Hunter's Teachers for teacher appreciation. I figured some relaxing bath salts would be much needed after doing two Pre-K Christmas parties!

Neighborhood excitement :(

Right after dinner, Hunter looked outside and said "THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!"

I went to the door and the neighbors house had smoke flowing out the bedroom window... I ran over to the house and banged on the door, only to hear the neighbor I was looking for over at the house next to hers. I was so happy about that. She works nights and sleeps part of the day so I was afraid she was sleeping in the house!

They lost everything.

It is so awful, but I am so thankful (as are they) that everyone got out and are fine.

Hunter is very sad because now his best play buddies are moving away since they no longer have a house they can live in across the street. I am just glad the little ones were all safe.

Prayers are always welcome!

My Last Christmas card to share:

Isn't Mr. Frosty cute? Mine is the one that is mounted on wood. I made some with red buttons, and when I ran out of red, used blue! I inked around the snowman with a watercolor brush and distress ink to make him stand out a little.

I had some silver metallic paper left from a few years ago when I bought a big pack of metallics, and decided it was the perfect time to break it out of my stash!

Scalloped square was cut with Silhouette on watercolor paper.

Because this card has a snowman on it, it qualifies for the Unity Challenge this month (found here).

A Birthday Card

The girl down the block just had her birthday, the day after Colton's, so I made her a card and frap jar full of candy!

I didn't get a picture of the jar, but I do have the birthday card:

I used my Silhouette to cut the stamp rectangle twice (10 piece rectangle stamp set 2 by Samantha Walker) and then again just a little smaller. I glued the two larger pieces together at the edges to make the card and then the smaller piece to the front to make it look embossed. I also cut the scalloped circle with the Silhouette. Love that machine!

Birthday Sentiment is from Unity. The ribbon is a wired ribbon that I cut in half and then pleated on the card and stapled to secure in place.

Another Christmas card!

This one is using the same sketch as THIS ONE, but I changed the colors, stamps, and sentiment.

I used my Silhouette to cut out all the scalloped squares for these cards on watercolor paper because I had planned on using an image I could watercolor...

but with the trees, it was much better to paper piece!

I started out using the wired Gold ribbon on these cards, but since I used one strip of Gold on last weeks cards, I ran out and had to make one with silver!

I had a horrible night sleep last night...

I don't remember the font I used for the sentiment, but I made it just the outline of the font in Microsoft Word so Hunter could color it!

I was making fun of Chris telling him Hunter used Chris's "favorite" colors to color the sentiment... I think these were the only markers Hunter could find. For some reason, he refused to use his crayons to color... He brings home these great pictures from school where he colors with crayons and colors in the lines all nice and neat... but once he got a hold of his markers, he went a little crazy!

Well, it is finally November...

So I guess it is late enough in the year to show some Christmas stuff!

Here is ONE of my Christmas cards for this year.

I ended up running out of red ribbon so used this gold wired ribbon for one of these cards... Turns out, this made it so I ran out of the golden ribbon on the next set of Christmas cards!

I have 3 different ones for this year. Ten of each look. They are all the same sketch, but different colors and stamps... Today's has an Itty Bitty. tinsel in a tangle {Jillibean Itty Bitty} which is on sale this weekend... Just sayin!

Happy Halloween!

I made these for Hunter's Pre-K class.

I made them for the morning class too... so 31 students (plus a few extra for teachers and just in case)...

That makes a whopping 36 toppers, 72 cookies, and a big pain in my rump because I decided to try stamping on the cookies. (got this brilliant idea here)

I used Unity's the "Boo" Crew set for the toppers, along with a clear stamp set I got at Wal-Mart for $0.97! I recommend using clear acrylic stamps to stamp the cookies because you need to see what is being stamped. I tried using the Unity stamps on the cookies, but couldn't get a good enough image.

AND the frosting... don't get me started! I finally called my friend in town here, and she made me some Royal Frosting. I believe she did about 4 cups sifted powdered sugar, 6 tablespoons water, and some meringue powder... but couldn't tell you how much, I think maybe 2 tablespoons!

Once I got the frosting home, I watered it down a little, put it in a frosters bag, and frosted the cookies. I allowed the frosting to set over night... THEN, in the morning, I used gel food coloring. I painted that on the stamps and stamped them on the cookies...

I let the food coloring dry for a couple hours before bagging up the cookies.

Hope you enjoyed my Halloween project... I hope I never find any bright ideas for Hunter's class again!

I made a postcard style invite.

The front is made with a Stampin' Up! set for the dump truck and party animals. The sentiment is computer generated and the dots are Unity's Distressed Dots.

I put the party info on the back. Can't believe the baby is already gonna be a year old!

One Hot Stripper!

Today, we had a bit of an accident out at the farm...

We had our cotton stripper catch fire. I am not sure exactly, but something with the engine compartment and a spark, mixed with cotton... it was a bad mix and our cotton stripper is totaled.

To start, here is what a cotton stripper is supposed to look like:

Side View, can you see where the cab USED to be?

Can you see the fire? This is just under the bucket that holds the cotton, where the engine is.

Back View. The fire at the ground on the left is the front tire. You can also see some flames inside the bucket just above the red tape on the left.

This is my dad standing in front of a module of cotton. The cotton is picked in the stripper, dumped into a buggy, then dumped into a module builder. Didn't get a picture of that, sorry, but it looks like a railroad car. It packs the cotton into this hard bale before driving off of it.

Crock Pot Sunday

Okay, so I am finally ready to share with you my Mother-In-Law's recipe for her French Dip Brisket.

SO YUMMY!

Ingredients:

Celery Salt

Onion Salt

Garlic Powder (or salt, but I prefer to use powder since already using two salts)

Liquid Smoke

3-4 lb Brisket

Now, when my MIL makes this dish, she is usually feeding an army, so she will double the size of the brisket and use two bottles of the liquid smoke.

Because the slab of meat is usually pretty large, I take a trash bag (big kitchen trash bag and my MIL taught me this too!) and put the meat inside it. I sprinkle all the dry ingredients on the meat. Don't need a ton, but enough to have each one sprinkled on the entire surface.

Now add the liquid smoke onto the meat. Throw into fridge overnight to marinade.

*Tie the bag closed first to make sure the liquid doesn't leak all over your fridge!

Put 3-4 lb brisket in a 4 quart crock pot and add water to cover meat. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.

I usually start this in the morning and then forget about it until it is time to eat!

We eat this on hoagie style buns and dip in the liquid for a french dip that actually has flavor!

One of my FAVORITE dishes! So easy to make, takes very little time to do, and turns out fabulous every time. Only thing is you have to decide the day before that you want it so you can let it marinade in the ingredients.

Oh, and if you are in the house while this cooks, be prepared to be starving ALL day long because it smells SOOOO good while cooking it makes your tummy want it NOW!

It is a killer when staying at my MIL's house before a big get together because she will cook it all night... and it has woken me up in the middle of the night wanting to go eat because it smells so good!

TORTURE!!!

There is a new challenge over at the Clear It Out's Challenge Blog to use some trims on your projects.

I decided to make my husband a coupon book for his upcoming birthday. I used mailing envelopes for the pages and actually put my Bind It All to use to bind the book together! Bout time huh! Only had it for year!

Anyway, I used my spellbinder label 4 die to cut each end of the envelopes to make it easier to get the coupons out.

The coupons I made with a digital stamp. The stamping inside the book are from Unity Stamps as well as a clear stamp set for the little tickets.

This sentiment was also from Sweet & Sour Soup which I was kind of sad about. When purchasing this Fast Facebook Offer, I really thought these stamps were MUCH bigger than they turned out to be... BUT the sentiments are still great sentiments!

I made about 12 of these tickets with the computer. I printed the ticket on colored paper and then the centers on white and paper pieced them together.

Some were signed by Hunter and say things like "Ice Cream for Two" and "Any activity of your choice!"

Crock Pot Sunday

So, last Sunday, I made Au Jux Brisket… French Dip Brisket!

SOOOO GOOD!

But, that is not what I am going to share with you TODAY!

TODAY, I am going to tell ya all about the CREAMY ITALIAN CHICKEN I made in the crock pot last Friday…

On Friday, I thought I was going to have to take some food out to the farm for dinner… Feed my household, plus the harvesters. So 9 adults and the 2 boys…

I thawed 5 Large Chicken Breasts to throw in the pot. I started cooking… called Chris to tell him about what time I would be there, JUST to have him let me know they were quitting early and would be coming in for dinner!!!

So my dinner for 9+ turned into 3 adults and the 2 pint size eaters!

Oh well!

So today I will share with you TWO recipes…

CREAMY ITALIAN CHICKEN and CHICKEN ENCHILADAS I made with the leftovers!

CREAMY ITALIAN CHICKEN:

4 Chicken Breasts (I added the extra one to add for extra people)

1 Italian Salad Dressing Mix

8 oz cream cheese

1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup

¼ cup water

desired amount of rice (I just make instant rice for appropriate serving size)

In slow cooker, cook chicken, water & packet of Italian dressing on LOW for 3-3.5 hours. When chicken is done, shred. On stove, cook cream cheese & cream of chicken on low until hot, mix with shredded chicken. Cook rice as directed.

Okay, Chris does NOT like the creamy part of this recipe, so I don’t combine everything until it is on my own plate.

And for this reason, I was able to save 3 chicken breasts for “leftovers”…

SO, to make something different with the chicken so Chris would eat it since he hates “leftovers”, I decided to make Chicken Enchiladas.

This was the first time I had EVER made enchiladas… and I was a little nervous to tell you the truth! I didn’t realize how EASY they are!

So I took the leftover chicken, and by this time there were only 2 chicken breasts left since my dad isn’t apposed to “leftovers!” So I took the TWO chicken breasts and tore them to shreds! Threw that in a sauce pan with a 4.5 oz can of diced green chili and a package of cream cheese and cooked on low until it was all nice and warm. From there, I spooned the mixture into some Corn Tortilla’s (small ones) and rolled them once and placed in a baking pan, seem down.

Chris doesn’t care too much for green enchilada sauce (which is my favorite since I hate the red sauce!), so I made one 8x8 pan of red enchiladas and one 9x9 pan of green enchiladas.

My tortillas didn’t stay together very pretty, but it worked. I was told later by my Sister In Law that I needed to heat the tortillas on the stove for a minute to make them more flexible… Oh well, they tasted great!

CHICKEN ENCHILADAS:

1 lb shredded chicken breast

4.5 oz can diced chili

1 package cream cheese

1 can Enchilada Sauce

Tortillas

Bake on 400 for 15-20 minutes.

*If you aren’t using left over chicken, you can use a pound of chicken breast, cut up and cooked on stovetop until no longer pink before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Friday With Unity

Good Friday Morning all...

I am currently lying in bed wishing everyone in the house would go back to sleep.

The baby (almost a year old) decided to wake up almost EVERY hour last night...

I can't wait until nap time...

but then at nap time, I will be taking lunch to my wonderful Husband out at the farm.

We have started stripping cotton. Very long process. I am thinking IF the baby falls asleep on the way out there, I am going to just lay my seat back and take a nap too. Better take a blankie with me just in case so I can actually get comfortable in the car. I am actually hoping he doesn't fall asleep until we are on our way home from the farm...

Here is another notebook I made. I am using the sketch from Unity for the month of October. I did flip it to make it portrait. Too bad I didn't us a KOM stamp on this!

Crock Pot Sunday

So yes,

Today is Wednesday...

But, I use my crock pot on most Sundays so I can go to church and not worry about dinner for that night or what needs thawed, or spend time in the kitchen while Chris and both boys are home.

This past Sunday, I made Red Wine Short Ribs. I ended up with short ribs after we had our last steer butchered, and I had NO idea what to do with them. I was very excited when I finally found a recipe on Crock Pot Girls website.

(The meat fell right off the ribs)

This dish turned out really good. Chris was very surprised how good it turned out after he took a sip of the wine and told me just how awful the wine was!

(pretty green bottle though!)

The bad wine taste had no affect on how good the meat turned out though!

I didn't have any garlic cloves, so used diced garlic that I already had in my fridge. I used two Table Spoons.

Chris did think he needed a little BBQ sauce, but since I didn't have any in the house, figured the meat was just fine without it!

My Crock Pot is a Hamilton Beach 3 In One Slower Cooker.

I love this thing cause it has 3 bowls... a 2 quart, 4 quart, and 6 quart bowl that fits in the base. I can switch out the bowl for whatever size I need and don't have to have multiple crock pots that take up a ton of room.

Wow how the weeks just fly by!

Another Friday is already here!

And I am running short on time since I have so many house chores to do before taking Hunter to school, so I will make this QUICK!

I made this card for my BFF. Her birthday is tomorrow. We have been friends since FOREVER and EVER. Her favorite color is pink, with green coming in second, so I thought I would make her a very special card:

The Flower is on a barrette so she can take it off the card and wear or give to someone else... I just love that sentiment. The background is Declare Freedom and the sentiment is from the October 2010 KOM. My sewing machine and I had a very hard time with each other the day I made this card. The back of the card is a HUGE mess, but at least you can't tell on the front right!?

I made this card with IPPITY. I wasn't thinking that the new Ippity Chick challenge blog had a sketch too... I was thinking it was just use ONLY Ippity stamps... SO it doesn't qualify, but is still cute. I used it to say thanks to a lady who purchased some of my neglected stamps (LINK IN RIGHT SIDEBAR).

I used to take a MILLION pictures... but then got a NIKON camera... and am still trying to get used to it. Even the EASY setting doesn't like me! It still is blurry at times. So frustraiting...

SO I joined a 365 group to take pictures every day of the year... and then life happened and I didn't take any pictures with my camera (mainly because I had misplaced it!).

A couple days ago, walking out the front door, the boys and I were attached by all the butterflies and bugs who were enjoying the flowers in my flower bed. I decided that would be a great time to start taking some pictures. I really wanted to get a picture of the wings open, but my subjects just wouldn't cooperate.

But I did get some pretty cool shots:

I love this one. The butterfly was white with just a little bit of color on the very tip of the outer wing. I didn't get to see it's wings open at all, so not sure what that looked like:

This is as close to open as I could get. Not the full wing span, but still pretty cool looking:

Friday with Unity

I am currently trying to find what I am going to wear to my good friends Wedding TOMORROW! I am so excited.

Chris and I have a sitter! So we are going KID FREE!

And there is going to be a reception with dancing after.

I am so excited!!!!

Anyway, I thought I would show you an altered notebook I did up.

I cheated a little.

I just used ONE sheet of paper that already had the layered pattern, so all I had to do was add a white layer with the sentiment and the flower and DONE! Very easy and quick.

That is one of my FAVORITE sentiments from Unity. Not only is the sentiment great, I can also paper piece it to make it match my project!

I bought the notebook at the Dollar Tree. It had three notebooks in one pack AND each book has 60 pages.

I think these will be great for my Church Young Women as starter journals. I know that when you are young, a 300 pg journal can be a little nerve racking. I never wanted to mess them up at that age! So, something small should get them into the flow of things (I hope!)

Slower Cooker Roast

So this isn't my typical post...

BUT, I wanted to share a website I got from facebook called

CROCK POT GIRLS.

There are SO many recipes on there for so many different things.

I wanted to make a roast in the crock pot on Sunday. I hate to cook on Sunday's. It is just a good day to be lazy and not have to worry about cooking.

So I went to Crock Pot Girls and found this recipe: Slower Cooker Roast.

It turned out so freaking amazing! So good.

How come no one ever told me to use Brown Gravy Mix with my roast before?

My mom doesn't do it...

My Mother-In-Law doesn't do it...

But now that I have tried it, I have told them to try it.

And now I am telling you to try it!

SO FREAKING GOOD!

Holy OWWW

This is why you should NEVER have an arguement with a dresser!

I was stripping my sheets off the bed and had my comforter on the floor by the end of the bed. Hunter decide to sit on the comforter, so to get to that last corner of the sheet, I had to step around him between him and the dresser. To make sure I didn't kick Hunter, I ended up stubbing my baby toe on the dresser... SO was not happy. Hurt so bad. I was afraid to look at my foot. I had a sock on, so didn't look at my foot until I got back from grocery shopping 3 hours later!

And the only reason I looked at my toe then was on the way home from the store, I slipped my shoe off because my toe hurt so bad. When I got home, I couldn't get the shoe back on because of the swelling... so I took off my sock to put on a sandle, and FINALLY checked out my toe.

Thankfully, by the time dinner time rolled around, the swelling in my toe had gone down and the pain had almost completely gone away. It is still a little tender at times, but at least I don't wince every time I try to take a step!

I was SO tired yesterday after going out with my Husband on Saturday Night. We went out of town to the city and went shopping, ate at Red Lobster, stayed at a hotel, and went dancing til 2 in the morning!

Last Day of GIU

Let's see if I can get through a WHOLE post without my computer shutting down on me! It has taken me three tries this morning to edit my pictures!

I am sorry this isn't up at the crack of dawn like normal, but YESTERDAY was my BIRTHDAY!!! so I didn't get my post scheduled last night!

I had such a FaBuLoUs day! The best birthday I can remember since I was a kid and birthdays were such a big deal.

I was able to get a sitter so I could get my nails refilled and a pedicure (hadn't had one since a month before Colton was born...he is almost 10 months!). FELT AMAZING!

Chris gave me a gift certificate to the local SPA to go get the DIVA package! It includes a manicure, pedicure, luxury facial, 60 minute massage, and not sure what else since I have to call them! HOW SWEET IS THAT?

Then, Chris grilled steaks. I love steak, but haven't mastered using the grill so don't usually cook them myself cause nothing depresses me more than ruining a perfectly good piece of meat! They were PERFECT!

I did help a little with dinner... I made scalloped potatoes, jalapeno poppers (got a really hot one and thought my mouth would never stop burning!) and Cheese Cake!

Then we jumped in bed and watched Rookie Blue. Perfect ending to a Perfect Day!

The first ones are the 2.5 ounce jars. These are the ones the NASTY meats come in. Oh they smell bad, but Colton just <3's them. They are his FAVORITE....ewww!

You might notice that the sentiment isn't quite right from the picture on the stamp set... I CUT IT! I wanted treat to fit under the "you're such a" so it would fit on the 1.5" circle... I like it better this way, even though I am now scared I might loose part of the sentiment in all my "organized" crafting!

This jar is the 4 ounce size. I filled it with some spice tea... I love all that krafty goodness.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I am going to just jump right in since I am going to be enjoying my day and probably not spending much time on the computer!

The first two are very similar. I made the first to send to my friend who had a birthday last week... and then my computer died for a day and I couldn't get to the pictures I had saved on the computer...

so I recreated it as best as I could for the second card...(I think the first one came out better!)

I made this card for my Grandmother's birthday last week. Can you guess what set I used for the silhouetted flowers?

I am so excited. Chris and I are hoping that the farm will allow us to take a night off and run away to the city for some dancing and romancing! I love it when Chris comes up with ideas on what to give/get me all on his own. Makes it that much more special!

I made this a while ago with a bunch to give to Chris periodically. I just FINALLY gave it to him, so now can share on the blog!

The denim looking paper was given to me in a RAK package from KELLI P! Such a sweet woman! The buttons are from one of Chris's worn out shirts (I think i ended up cutting 27 buttons off ONE shirt - SCORE!) and the stamp is from Samantha Walker's set Retro Road Trip.

This week is all about

I am doing the Growing in Unity week this week

AND

it is my birthday week!

I know I have been away for far too long, but am glad that I had signed up for GIU because it forced me to get a little creative, even though I still wasn't completely feeling up to it!

Okay, on with the show:

I made this card to send to my brother. He has a niece that likes barrettes so I made her a set out of felt and buttons from MARTHA's Etsy Shop.

The background stamp on my card is from Unity's Bella Blvd collection called Bella Doilies. I stamped it on white cardstock and then covered it with some red sparkle tull.

Another card I made to send to my brother is for his Holiday Cards:

I hope he likes them. I love this little snowman (Mr. Frosty {Bella Blvd Itty Bitty}). The sentiment and background snowflakes are from Snowflakes Fall from Heaven.

I feel so behind. I had most of my Christmas cards done at this time last year... and haven't even thought of what I am going to do for my own cards!

WAY BEHIND!

A couple weeks ago,

Chris,

Hunter,

Colton,

and I

all went to Colorado for the Bent Fair.

It also happened to be Crowley County Days, so we did the parade there before going to the Rodeo and Dance in Las Animas...

The dance was SO much fun. Chris and I danced quite a few songs and had lots of fun, even though the dance floor had ruts in the dirt!

Here is a tractor that was in the parade. Check out his seat (too funny):

We walked around the park after the parade to see if we could find anything of interest... we found snow cones! Love me some Tigers Blood, and it just so happens, that is Chris's fav too!

After all the excitement at Crowley, we decided to hit up Big R to see if we could find me some clothes that fit....

I have LOST 25 lbs AND 4 pant sizes!

I am back into the same size clothes I wore BEFORE I got pregnant with Hunter over 4 years ago!

YAY ME!

Chris was so helpful at Big R. It was a MAD HOUSE. We didn't know it when we headed there, but they were having their Christmas in July sale. I had NEVER seen their parking lot SOOOO full!

Chris helped me find some wranglers, and even went and got me a smaller size when I was FINALLY able to get into a dressing room and the pants were too big. When we got there I had no idea what size I needed since I had lost the weight... so I was very glad I had Chris to help me!

In the end, Chris ended up getting me 4 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts. We also got Hunter a pair of Cinch Jeans (cost as much as Chris's) and a pair of NEW cowboy boots that we have threatened if he goes and plays in the water with he will loose his feet!

Chris also ended up getting a really good deal on two pairs of Cinch jeans too! They fit him really nice and they were practically half off, which makes them even better!

I am sure you are all bored to tears from all the wording and only three pictures, so I will stop now... but before I go, here is a picture of our trip 2 months ago to Colorado where I took the boys to the zoo:

Hunter's Vacation

Hunter has been spending some time in Colorado, and learning how to swim! He has been doing so good. I sent him there to get in the water since I am allergic to chlorine...

When I met up with my dad in Oklahoma to drop the kid, they stopped at the airport to check out this beauty!

Hunter was SOOO excited that he was able to touch the propeller!

How cool is that!

FWF and Clear It Out

I made this little tag for Clear It Out's challenge to Paper Piece.

I used a stamp I had never used before for the background. It is a little notebook page from one of the KOM sets (couldn't find it today!). I also used the Itty Bitty image that I got with my Store Kit a while back. Love this image!

The paper is a paper pack from Echo Park that I won. I used the paper to make a little book and had some small scraps left over I just couldn't throw away. I love how this tag turned out with the paper!

FwF Same but Different!

I have a few cards that are all the same sketch, but a little different!

I made a black and white card with this sketch (HERE), but thought it would work great with some color too!

This card uses Dream Big {Webster's Itty Bitty} and Sweet Celebration Birthday.

The next card uses the same stamps, but I used Copics to color my butterfly stamp before stamping it. I used different borders on my panel too. And can you see the stitching on all of them?!

I made this for the Unity Place Challenge to make your own background.

I didn't have the color of blue paper that I wanted, so I used Distress Ink (Broken China) to sponge white paper.

I then stamped the love stamp in Broken China at an angle over the sponging to give a subtle pattern.

I made this card using three Ippity stamps.

Another Headband

I have only gotten one ready for my Artfire Store, so I don't have these listed yet. I did want to share though.

I made this one for my Husband's cousin's baby.

My poor son had to be the one to model it for me. He wasn't happy!

This one is a turquoise colored flower with clear beaded center and black crocheted headband.

The great thing about these headbands is they fit on a head like my son's without being very tight and don't leave an indention on the head, but are still snug enough to stay on. He wore this for about ten minutes before he got irritated because I wouldn't let him touch it....

I then took it to my parents for them to check out and my dad and Hunter (4 yrs old) both wore it to make fun of each other and it fit them fine too, without indention and still staying snug enough to stay on. After my dad took it off, it went right back to the original size and still fit the baby's head just fine (6 months!)

If interested, I have all sorts of ribbon colors and a few headband colors (royal blue, bronze, light brown, off white, black, grey).

Vacationing

Here are some photo's of the boys and our adventures in Colorado:

Colton had a lazy morning reading a magazine while visiting with Papa Andy and Grandma Rhonda

Then the boys headed to the City Park to go fishing. This is Hunter's FAVORITE place to fish since every time his line hits the water he has a fish on it! It is just catch and release, but gotta love that since he catches at least 20 fish each trip to the park! I really like that Papa Larry is in charge of the fishing so I don't have to take ALL those little fish off the line to throw back!

The 3 F's

The boys and I have been visiting family during this last week, and we have been busy!

Family...Friends...Fishing!

I found some new satin ribbon and decided to make some flowers for a couple of gifts I needed. We went to visit my friend and her daughter just turned a year old, but still doesn't have much hair, so I decided she needed a flower headband.

Isn't she cute?

Then, Chris's cousin is graduating high school, so I made her one on a hair tie that she can use as a barrette or a bracelet!

Chris's other cousin just sent us a baby announcement, so I think I will make another headband for their new little girl. I am so excited at how they are turning out!

Each flower takes about 20-25 minutes to make if I really work at it. It takes a lot to sew every petal to the flower, but are well worth it!

FWF Google Eyes

I love how this little 3x3 card turned out. It uses Unity's Cuter Than Most set. His eyes are actually GREEN, though the camera and lighting didn't really pick that up very well... (kinda can see it on the right eye)

I colored his teeth and the pearls with a green Copic. The sentiment is from Unity's Bella Blvd Sweet Celebration Birthday. It was the birthday with the cloud doodle around it, but the doodle wouldn't fit on such a small card so I just used the sentiment. I thought that birthday sentiment better than the other for a little boy's birthday card.

Clear It Out with Color

All Things Unity Trifecta

All Things Unity is having a Trifecta challenge for Unity's 3rd Birthday.

The challenge is to make a

birthday or anniversary card,

that is 3x3,

and has 3 embellishments on it....

My Embellishments are a flower mini rhinestone, a doily, and a flower.

Isn't that flower awesome! I made it myself!

I also did a little stitching on this card... and my machine didn't even try to break on me this time!

FWF embossed style

So blogger decided to FINALLY WORK!

This is what I made for Unity's FWF, the Unity Place Embossing Challenge, and Clear It Out.

Close Up:

I used Samantha Walker's Butterfly Garden and Sentiments O' Simple. The yellow layer is Samantha Walker's 1 piece circle frame, a die cut for my Silhouette.

I inked up the floral image with VersaMark ink, then with Palette Noir before stamping and heat embossing with holographic powder. I then colored the image with Copics and mounted on the white die cut.

I also sewed on this card, but that didn't work so well. My machine decided to try to break, then I ran out of thread on my bobbin, and I couldn't sew straight to save my life... but it works!

I am so very proud of the way my bow came out. I made my own little version of the bow easy and followed a tutorial from youtube.com to tie it. I think it turned out pretty awesome!

I decided it is time to clear out all the stamp images that I am not using since my stamping collection is getting so big!

I am selling some unlove Unity singles from the past KOM's and some FULL sets.

Unity Stamp Company stamps are all red rubber mounted on cling foam (just stick to acrylic block and use!).

Most have only been stamped once to put in my index.

Shipping will be cheapest way and depends on what you buy -- I will stick as much in a first class envelope as possible or fill a small priority mail box for you (buyer pays shipping).

I except personal check (shipment after check clears) or paypal.
